Breeam Very Good
The existing building was deemed unsuitable for further development and was completely demolished. The new register building on the waterfront has given the town a new architectural signature and revitalized the harbor front. A newly established harbor park reopens the visual axis from the town to the sea. To the north, there remains potential for a future development phase.
The new building features a tall glass atrium at its center, allowing daylight to flow through from the town side to the sea. The atrium houses the main entrance, lobby, and central staircase. Social zones are placed as “watering holes” on the landings, creating attractive meeting points filled with light, air, and views. The top-floor canteen and adjoining rooftop terrace offer spectacular views of the open sea and the Vega archipelago.
The project emphasizes high quality and meets the demands of a modern knowledge-based organization. The building is BREEAM-certified to the level of Very Good. Durable, long-lasting materials have been used, with a focus on flexible workspaces and efficient operations.
The register’s central location, with its entrance near a public transport hub, along with upgraded road infrastructure and new cross-connections, reinforces the commitment to green mobility and urban life in Brønnøysund.
